Fashion as an art form has never been isolated, especially when it comes to photography. Since photography’s inception the two mediums have been inextricably connected, practically sewn together at the seams. At Fashion IQ, our business is to perfect the marriage between these two mediums.
To Fashion IQ, fashion photography means more than just styling beautiful outfits on a beautiful model. Though we have carried out plenty of photo shoots that subscribe to that very theme, we love working with clients that like to try new things, to explore the alternative side of photography.
There is an artistic undercurrent in the world of fashion photography so strong that it has put experimental photographers such as Juergen Teller, Alessio Bolzoni, Arnaud Pyvka, and other expressive minds to the surface of the world’s leading fashion magazines. From overexposed shots, to shallow depth of field effects, to unusual and expressive staging— A fashion shoot has become more than just taking photos of beautiful people, wearing beautiful clothing. Fashion Photography has become an adventure in making a visually compelling story.
Fashion & Art Photography can capture the identity of a person or an entity and take the viewer on an emotional journey— it can be whimsical or raw, depending as much on the personality of the model as what he or she or they are wearing. But mostly, a photo becomes what the photographer intends it to be.
A good photographer is the one capable of creating a subconscious emotional experience of what the person, the brand, and the clothing in the image really means. And that is what makes the image, not just unique, but a moment in time worth capturing.
